Children's Ministry Registration Information

Mission Statement

We are forming young disciples to BELIEVE Jesus Christ is God and came into the world for salvation for all, GROW in a personal relationship with Jesus, GATHER in our community to encounter Jesus, Love unconditionally like Jesus, and LEAD others to abundant life in Jesus.

Location

Our classes will be held at the St. Pius X Parish Center.

Format

We utilize the Loyola Press (Finding God & God's Gift) curriculum which is rooted in Scripture, Catholic doctrine, and Ignatian spirituality! Check out Loyola's website to learn more. The theme for each class is:

Preschool/Kindergarten - God Calls Us: Foundations of Faith
1st Year Sacramental Preparation - God Found Everything Good: God & Creator
2nd Year Sacramental Preparation* - God's Gift: Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation
3rd Grade - Fishers of Men: Church & Holy Spirit
4th & 5th Grade - The Bread of Life - Sacraments & Worship

*It is a diocesan requirement that Sacramental Preparation for Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Eucharist be a two-year process. The first year of preparation typically starts in 1st grade and may be completed either by attending a Catholic school or by regularly participating in a Children's Ministry program.

2nd Year Sacramental Prep Only

Second Year Sacramental Preparation Requirements

It is a diocesan requirement that Sacramental Preparation for Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Eucharist be a two-year process. The first year of preparation typically starts in 1st grade and may be completed either by attending a Catholic school or by regularly participating in a Children's Ministry program.

Indicate where your child completed their first year of Sacramental Preparation (i.e. Catholic school or Children's Ministry classes). .

If your child is completing their Sacraments of Initiation (Reconciliation, Confirmation, First Eucharist) in Spring 2026, please upload a copy of his/her baptismal certificate. If you do not have a copy of the certificate, please request one from your child's baptismal church and hand into the office by October 1st.

Media Release Agreement

I understand that media representations of my child/children (e.g. still photos, videos, audio recordings) and/or projects created by my child/children may be published by St. Pius X related to the ministries, programs and initiatives of the parish.

Parental Involvement

Parents are the first and most important teachers of the faith. Your example and involvement are crucial in helping your child grow closer to God and understand the richness of our Catholic faith. We ask each family to contribute their time and talent to ensure we can continue offering these valuable programs. This participation can take many forms, such as helping with classes, teaching or assisting the Catechist, staffing events or retreats, or helping with setup and cleanup. Thank you for taking a look at all of the ways to help!

Children's Ministry Class: Wednesday 4:30-5:30 or 6:00-7:00I would like to teach.I would like to be a classroom assistant.I would like to be a substitute teacher.I would like to be a hall monitor (sit in the hallway during class time).I would like to be a rotating class parent (sits in class to assist the teacher once a month).All adults working directly with children will be trained and need to be current on their CMG safe environment certification.

Children's Liturgy of the Word: Alternates between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. MassI would like to be on a Children's Liturgy team and help once a month.I would like to be a substitute.

Nursery Ministry (High Need Area)I would like to be a nursery attendant.I would like to be a substitute nursery attendant.

Safe Environment TrainingYES, I have completed the CMG Connect online training within the last year.NO, I have not or it has been greater than 1 year since completed.All volunteers and paid staff working with children are required to be trained on creating a safe environment through the CMG Connect online training (https://greatfalls.cmgconnect.org/) and fill out a volunteer application.

All catechists will be given a volunteer packet with a teacher-friendly manual, a curriculum guide, and support from the Children's Ministry office and other catechists. A special training opportunity and many resources will be provided to all volunteers! Teens are also welcome to help!

Cost

Cost: One child: $30, Two children: $50, Three or more children: $60

Second-year sacramental preparation additional fee: $20 per child (Example: 1 child ($30) + Second Year Sacramental Year ($20) = $50 total enrollment fee)

Payment: Fees can be paid online through Parish Soft or Give Butter (You will be automatically directed to the payment website after hitting submit). Alternatively, Checks can be made out to "St. Pius X" with Children's Ministry fee indicated in the memo.

Scholarships: Scholarships available upon request.
