Are you seeking a way to serve and wondering, how to or even “Why?” you should participate in Family Promise Host Week at St. Pius? The opportunity to serve up to four unhoused families is a privilege during Host Week. Children out-number adults and they love the attention of volunteers who play a game with them or read a story. Crafting is a big hit, too!
Sleeping overnight as a presence of hospitality in a private nook assures the families that they are in a safe environment. Over-nighting is the easiest volunteer opportunity!
Preparing a meal at home and sitting down to eat with our guests at the Youth Center conveys our care and support for them as they work hard to over- come barriers and achieve housing. You could spilt the meal between two volunteer families!
