St. Pius X Council 9976
Chartered: January 26, 1989
The Knights of Columbus is a national organization of Catholic men over 18 years of age. Knights are dedicated to the Rosary, to reaching goals of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. They work on family, church, council community and youth activities.
Carrying on the
traditions that were set in 1882 by Father
Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of
Columbus, the
over 160 members of St. Pius X Council 9976
are active within your parish. Father McGivney
called together the men of his day in a
celebration of their catholic faith to work
within their parish and families. In the days
when widows and children in his parish were left
destitute due to the death of the family
breadwinner, he envisioned a fraternal society
for the protection of widows and children. He
also saw a need for men of the same faith and
common interest to gather together and foster
the fraternal bond, which to this day we find,
because of the persecution of our Church and
State, is as important as it was in 1882. Today,
nationally, the Knights of Columbus Insurance
portion of the Order has over five billion
dollars in force, insuring
over 1.7
million Knights and members of their
families. If a Knight, who is a police officer,
fireman, or emergency medical technician, or
military, is killed in the line of duty, his
children will receive an education in the
Catholic university or college of their choice -
at no charge.
The first child of one of the 9/11 heroes, entered a Catholic college in 2006.
Following 9/11
the Order was among the first to contribute over
one million dollars to the disaster effort. In
addition, each family that lost a family member
received a check for $3000.00 from the Knights,
Catholic family or not. The Order and individual
Councils and Knights provided over $11 million
dollars towards the hurricane Katrina disaster
fund. The Supreme office provides funding and ad
layouts for all advertising in secular magazines
inviting inquires into the Catholic Church. Many
converts are attributed to this advertising
program.
The
country of Poland has opened it's doors to our
world-wide order.
Nearly 250 Polish Knights have joined the Order
since January, 2006.
Councils have been formed in Krakow, Ludzmierz,
Lomianki, Lomza, Radom and Starachowice
Since 1989, the main goal of our Council has been to be the "right arm of the Church" as a parish "men's club." Service programs, provided by our Order, of Church, Council, Community, Family and Youth guide us in this work each year.
It is in this spirit that we and Council Chaplain, Fr. Steve Tokarski, extend an invitation to every Catholic man, over 18 years of age to join our Council. We also invite any Brother Knight of a council from other areas to transfer to our council. If you are a former Knight, you are invited to reinstate in the Order and to our Council.
We recommend all Catholic boys, over ten years of age to consider joining our youth group, the Columbian Squires young men learning leadership skills.
Here are but a few of the activities our Council is involved in
over the years.
These are but a few of the activities associated with our Faith, Family, Community and Fraternity.
Catholic men over 18 years of age are invited to join. Meetings are held in the Fellowship Hall on the Third Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
Yearly dues are $25.00. A one time Initiation fee is $15.00.

Are you looking for a way to meet some new friends? Are you looking for a way for your little son or daughter to make friends?
Moms and Tots is a group for women who like to get out of the house and meet other women. Our young children get to meet new friends and play in a warm, non-territorial play area. Everyone benefits.
The group meets every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church Nursery. Fellowship is shared by all. Even brand new babies benefit from all the attention they receive. New moms can learn the tricks of the trade from more experienced mothers.
If you think you would enjoy meeting with this group and their children, please come! You wont regret the time spent in friendship and fellowship.

Mother Teresa said, "The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed
Sacrament is the best time that you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in Heaven, and will help bring about an everlasting peace on earth."
Perpetual Adoration was started in Billings on February 14, 1994 at St. Anne's Chapel in Sacred Heart Renewal Center, 26 Wyoming Avenue. Over 400 registered men and women are participating in this devotion whereby the Blessed Sacrament is exposed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each participant spends on hour a week, at a designated time, praying before the exposed Blessed Sacrament.

Again I tell you, if two of you join your voices on earth to pray for anything
whatever, it shall be granted by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19
We pray for the needs of our parish members and loved ones. Prayer needs are relayed by e-mail, phone or by letter to those on the prayer chain, then members pray individually for those needs. All are invited to participate.
